There are different pathways to immigrate to Canada as a student however they each have their own requirements and due process during the application. These pathways are guaranteed though;

Most of these programs are operated through Express Entry. The international student will have to express an interest to immigrate and create a profile as well to be validated and be given a program to apply through.

Canadian Express Class (CEC)

The Canadian Express Class (CEC) has been one of the most reliant pathways to get immigration in Canada, the Canadian Express Class (CEC) has kept a standard for all that only the most qualified has to be chosen. There are different eligibility requirements with the obvious ones being Language expertise, age, and level of education. However, the most telling of them all and which probably distinguishes itself from other programs is the fact that applicants must prove that they must have at least one full year of Canadian work experience.

Do note that the one year does not involve the work you got during your studies, the one year should start counting after you must have graduated from school. However, when the international students graduate they can qualify for the Post-Graduation Work Permits.

The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) makes use of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score to pit the applicants against each other and only invite the ones with the highest score to apply for permanent residency.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

The provincial nominee program requirements vary because each province has a particular thing they are looking out for. Provinces go ahead to select applicants based on some reasons, it could be the relationship ties between the applicant and the province, maybe through education or the applicants has worked there prior to submitting an application.
