Twice a year, the Korean government invites 170 undergraduate students / 700 international PhD students from 156 countries to conduct research (BA, MA and PhD) and non-university programs in Korea through the Korean Government Scholarship.
Application Deadline: Applicants submit their applications to Korean embassies around the world or partner universities in Korea.

About the Scholarship: The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) is offered to international students who wish to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD studies in Korean universities. The scholarship is designed to provide international students with the opportunity to continue studying at institutions of higher learning in Korea, develop global leaders, and strengthen Korean friendly networks around the world.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the Korean Government Scholarship:
The applicants and their parents must be non-Korean citizens.
KGSP-G: less than 40
KGSP-U: Under 25
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health to study in Korea.
KGSP-G: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Must have a GPA of 80% or higher; or
The CGPA should be 2.64 / 4.0, 2.80 / 4.3, 2.91 / 4.5 or 3.23 / 5.0 or more.

Korean Government Scholarship Selection Process
Option 1: Applicants apply to Korean embassies around the world or participating universities in Korea. Embassies and universities select candidates from the first round of candidate selection. Applicants from selected applicants will be submitted to NIIED
Option 2: The NIIED selection committee selects the shortlisted candidates who have passed the first round.
Third selection: Among the selected applicants who passed the second round, the universities will check applicants’ applications through Korean embassies for admission. Successful applicants must be admitted to at least one of the universities.
One-year Korean course + two-year university degree
One year Korean course + 4 year license
One year Korean course + two years for the master
One year Korean course + 3 years for a PhD
Are accepted in: Korean universities.
Application Process: Only applicants can apply for a Korean government scholarship through the Korean embassy in their home country or participating Korean university.
